SIGNAL HILL MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT
IDC were commissioned by Buffalo City Metro to undertake the concept design for the redevelopment of Signal Hill in East London Harbour. This development along with the redevelopment of Latimars Landing is intended to be a catalytic project to promote economic growth in East London and the Border region as a whole.
The Port of East London is operated by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) working with BCMM have taken on one of the identified catalytic urban initiatives which is the East London waterfront development at Latimars Landing, Signal Hill and the Container terminal as part of the East London Port Expansion.

- Retail – Total GLA of 39,121m2
- Offices – Total GLA of 27,784m2
- Medical Facilities – GLA of 18,466m2
- Residential – Total of 246 units
- Conference Centre – 5000 Seater
- Events Centre – 6,802m2
- Business Centre – 7,631m2
- Structured Parking – Total of 4,560 cars
The development will change the port of East London and transform it into major South Africa tourist destination.
